Install Ubuntu 9.10 on low memory
Hi
I want to install ubuntu 9.10, but the problem is of memory. I do no have a sufficient memory to install ubuntu. By my knowledge ubuntu 9.10 requires at-least 256MB of memory. I tried the Live CD of ubuntu 9.10, sadly even the Live CD is not working. I really want to try ubuntu 9.10 on my system. Is there any way round. Any advice or suggestion.
re: Install Ubuntu 9.10 on low memory
If you want to install ubuntu 9.10 on low memory there is a "Alternate install CD" available. The "Alternate install CD" is developed to support ubuntu 9.10 on low memory. The "Alternate install CD" is useful for the following situations.
1) For setting up a automated deployement
2) Without an network access you can upgrade from older installation.
3) LVM and/or RAID partitioning.
4) Can be installed on systems which have less than 256MB of RAM (note that low-memory systems may not be able to full desktop environment)

Hi
Downloading "Alternate install CD" depends on any other requirements other than memory? From which location do I download an "Alternate install CD"? Is it available for different computer architecture? Or downloading any "Alternate install CD" will work. Any advice for these questions can make my work more easy. Thanks for the help.
