SATA hard drive not detected in bios or disk manager or Device Manager
I installed a 3rd SATA hard drive on my computer but it is not recognized by Windows (either in bios or in the disk manager or in Device Manager). I have 2 SATA hard disks. Is it because we are obliged to install in raid? I specify that the disk heats a little, so it works and it is plugged. I am under XP SP2.

You're stingy with details ...
What motherboard, what drives on which sata ports?
Re: SATA hard drive not detected in bios or disk manager or Device Manager
Motherboard: Asus PTGD1-LA
Hard Drives:
- SAMSUNG SP1614C (160 GB, 7200 RPM, SATA)
- WesternDC WD800AAJS-60PSA0 (74 GB, IDE) => this is from Everest, but it seems to me that it is SATA (it is connected just like the other)
- Whatever I try to install Hitachi Deskstar P7K500 S-ATA - 250 GB
Re: SATA hard drive not detected in bios or disk manager or Device Manager
Apparently it is the Intel ICH6 with 4 sata, no other ports, no tricks (no raid) ... So I do not see directly why your hdd does not appear in disk manager, it may be an incompatibility issue. Can you see the list of hdd detected during post boot? It appears alongside others?

No it does not. I try to change the SATA port, and then the computer does not detect my first hard drive either (the one on which Windows is installed). In short, I dropped.
