computer completely wiped clean
My brother gave me his Hp pavilion 7595 and he totally wiped the hard drive so there is nothing left. When I load the recovery disks that I got from sanotebooks.com, the screen reads
Boot from ATAPI CD-ROM:
No Emulation
Detected boot image on LBA 0x00000015
No hard disk found
System Recovery cannot be continued!
Press any key to continue.
when I hit a key the following appears on the screen
DISK BOOT FAILURE, INSERT SYSTEM DISK AND PRESS ENTER
Is there anything I can do?

Re: computer completely wiped clean
I guess you don't need to get a new HD.It may be due to some things like this
* Maybe the HATD DISK cable is not connected correctly or its faulty.
*The jumper settings are faulty If you have opened the PC recently
* The hard Disk may not be in the boot sequence in The BIOS setup.
Get in to the bios if any of the above is not the reason and reset the BIOS to default. Save and exit and try to reboot
Re: computer completely wiped clean
thanks for your help but I am somewhat computer illerate so I am not sure how the BIOS screen is supposed to look.
Here is my BIOS screen under Main:
System Time (time of day)
System date [09/14/2009
Language [English]
Floppy Diskette A [1.44Mb 3.5"]
Primary Master [Auto]
Primary slave [Auto]
Secondary Master [Auto]
Secondary Slave [HITACHI DVD-ROM GD 8000]
Installed Memory 256MB/PC133
Memory Bank 0 Not installed
Memory 1 256 MB SDRAM
Memory bank 2 Not Installed
Core Version 6.0
BIOS 3.5 08/01/01
Boot screen looks like the following:
Boot-time Diagnostic Screen [Disabled]
Quick Boot Mode [Enabled]
1. Removable Device [Floppy Diskette]
2. IDE Hard Drive [None]
3. ATAPI CD-ROM [HITACHI DVD-ROM G]
4. Other Boot Device [INT1B Device {Net ]
Can you tell by this what is the problem?

Re: computer completely wiped clean
I guess your hard disk is not recognized by the machine or its not present. Check if you have a hard disk. Second make sure it is working and third see if your bios detects it or you will need to update your bios... Hope this helps, :thumbup1:
Re: computer completely wiped clean

Re: computer completely wiped clean
I would like to thank everyone for their help but I think my pavilion 7975 has had it and needs to be donated.

Your IDE is shown as 'None' because it has not detected any device. Well this means your hard disk is not detected by your lappy... :whistling
