Windows 7 black screen problem
I have been trying to upgrade Windows 7 from Windows xp but have been met with a black screen. I can see the new boot image fine but after 20 second complete black screen. I've been trying to figure out a way to solve this problem but didn't find anything. How can I fix Windows 7 black screen problem?
Re: Windows 7 black screen problem
First try to unplug your monitor from your graphic card and use some different graphic card. Which version of Windows 7 are you installing, is it beta or RC? If it is beta then upgrade it to RC and see you are still getting the black screen. You can even try to boot from the Windows CD again and choose to repair the bootinfo.
Re: Windows 7 black screen problem
1. Restart your computer by holding down F8 key
2. Now boot in "Safe mode with networking"
3. Now search on google for latest drivers for your graphics card manufacturer and Windows 7 compatible.
4. Download and install the new driver
5. Restart once again for changes to take effect.
Re: Windows 7 black screen problem
Reboot your computer and boot in safe mode. Go to the desktop, open notepad and copy the following line:
Quote:
displayswitch /extend
displayswitch /internal
Now save it as a .bat file. Now move this file in the Windows Startup folder and reboot your computer.
