How to disable quickplay from startup
I want to disable HP QuickPlay autostart function but do not know how to do it from the control panel, I have search lot for disabling option all over the PC, but endup with no positive result. Is this a genuine issue that everyone is getting or only am having this issue.
Re: How to disable quickplay from startup
If you go to your Task Manager you should see a program called QPService. End this to disable the quickplay features of the laptop. or else My thought was that if you can find out the name of the executable that starts QuickPlay at system startup, you can prevent it from running.
For example, it might named something like QP.exe, or QuickP.exe, or ?
Re: How to disable quickplay from startup
Yes, I tried killing QLB at startup using a startup manager and verifed it via task manager that it wasn't running but it was not effective. and i have also decided to re-installed my windows because my wireless drivers were distroyed during a windows update. But i think Reinstallation of windows would not let me do an upgrade so have to do a custom install which meant a fresh install and loss of all programs and files. Please help.
Re: How to disable quickplay from startup
Well my method stops quickplay from launching, but the other buttons (back, forward, stop, play, mute and volume) will still work as they are system buttons. It appears to be a BIOS thing. It would be nice if HP could add a switch inside the BIOS to turn these buttons on and off. I know in some models the updated BIOS now lets you turn off the sounds but the buttons are still active.
