Connect CZ32V51 Toshiba Television to Media Center
Hi,
I have a 32" old Toshiba Television. The model number is CS32V51. I want to connect the TV to my TV Tuner card. Just trying to set up a small media center in my living room. I have a media center edition so I will just install if it is possible to work on it. I also have a Digital TV connect from Comcast. The TV was donated by my uncle to me for my room. So the main thing I want to do is record my favorite shows and music online. Will this type of model work in my pc. If not then is there any other brand in Toshiba also right now.
Re: Connect CZ32V51 Toshiba Television to Media Center
Yes your TV will connect with Media center Pc. The TV is quiet a old model so I worry that you will not receive a really great HD type output. But it will work as normal and you can record your shows and music also. That does not need a TV support. Just download a TV guide select your show and select start recording from your MCE remote. The thing you need to take care about is the TV Tuner card. Like ATI, or Hauppauge. Get a good card so that you can receive much better output quality. See the below thread for full details and more information.

Re: Connect CZ32V51 Toshiba Television to Media Center
It is possible to connect your TV to the Media Center. Your TV consist four types of connections. The first one is Antenna Coaxial cable, Audio/Video, S video and Color Stream Cable. The set top box will be connected to your TV Tuner card in your pc and a coaxial cable will move from TV Tuner card to the TV for an movie output. Here as mentioned in the above post the TV Tuner card plays the role. I will recommend you to use ATI eHome Wonder Card. It is a fully dedicated hardware for MCE with multiple supports and on board RAM. See on the internet for more details about the card.

The TV is fine but as it a old model and HD quality movies will not been display properly on it. You can view it in the same traditional format. Toshiba has now launched a Regza collection TV. They offer a full HD 100Hz output. This TV are flat with wide screen and much bright resolution. You TV is a traditional 32" which cannot make you happy on playing games. You can just use it as output for TV guide. I will advice you to buy a full 1080p resolution TV with better MCE support and features.
