Windows vista media dvd decoder

While decoding with FFDShow
The first thing to do is select the menu Codec FFDShow configuration of the different formats that you wish to decode and / or post-contract.
We advise you to select all the codec to be supported by FFDShow. While the majority of formats are decoded by default, this is not the case for MPEG-1 and 2, or Windows formats such as WMV7/8/9 and VC-1 or DV format used by Some camcorders, or Quicktime format and Real Media.
Important: To decode DVD, you must select a decoder for MPEG-2 and check the box DVD Decoding below the list (visible when the MPEG-2 is selected.)
Case of DVD and TV
Vista uses its own codec for DVD playback and TV reception (DVB-T SD). To replace this codec in FFDShow, it is necessary to change the registry decoder to take into account. Fortunately, a utility called MCDU can change the decoder via a small interface:
- Download and run MCDU
- Select FFDShow Video Decoder in the 2nd field (video decoder for digital TV and DVD)
- Check the box Take Ownership if you have Vista TV Pack 2008 or Windows 7
- Click the Set defaults and validate all the dialogs
For information, the registry keys modified by MCDU are in the HKLM / Microsoft / Windows / Current Version / Media Center / Decoder:
- PreferredMPEG2VideoDecoderCLSID: ID of the video decoder for analog TV
- PreferredMPEG2VideoDecoderCLSID2: ID of the video decoder for digital TV and DVD
- PreferredMPEG2AudioDecoderCLSID: ID of the audio decoder for analog TV
- PreferredMPEG2AudioDecoderCLSID2: ID of the audio decoder for digital TV and DVD
Re: Windows vista media dvd decoder
The main problem is that Media Center uses the same codec to decode DVD and television. Therefore, you can not decode the DVD (MPEG-2) and TNT HD (MPEG-4) with an MPEG-2 decoder others. However, we found a combination that allows for DVD decoding with FFDShow and apply different filters on the TV.
Output Format
Appointment now on the menu output FFDShow. Tick the boxes:
- RVB32
- Conversion YV12/RVB high quality
In the menu Conversion RGB Output Level section, select the radio button of a computer screen (RGB: 0-255) even if you connect the PC to a TV or video.
