Amd athlon xp 2000+ overheating
Hello friends,
My computer has amd athlon xp 2000+ on it.I am using gigabyte motherboard 7vkmpMy problem is regarding the temperature it keeps getting restarted again and again in summers.I probed the temp on bios. cpu temp goes up to 70 and system temp is also above 70 most of time. how can i sort out the issue?
please help me
thanks..
Re: Amd athlon xp 2000+ overheating
I don't think it is high enough that there is concern, especially if your applications and games are working perfectly even if that temp is on the high side. if you want to soar fan speed, you must do so in the bios.Though, i wouldn't worry too much about that temp. its on the high side of cpu temps, but not enough for concern, i don't believe. Also check for if the board has any leaking or bulging capacitors, if there are, it may cause voltage regulation on the motherboard, resulting overheat and instability.
Re: Amd athlon xp 2000+ overheating
If this happening under normal weather you may have a problem when the CPU usage goes to near 100 percent load. I'd expect problems to begin happening at about 70C, although AMD rates the CPU at 90C (90C may be for meltdown.) If 60C is when the CPU is near 100 percent load, then I doubt you will have any issues caused by the temperature. Can you provide some more technical details like what HSF you have, how many case fans & how are they arranged
Re: Amd athlon xp 2000+ overheating
I do believe that the board does not seem to have option in BIOS for vcore adjustment. The two other options are: get a better heat sink and fan. or go for a down clocking, you will drop some performance, but guess its better than restarting. Set also the RAM to 200MHz DDR in that case. There are utility applications that perform the C1 disconnect/CPU Halt commands when the CPU is idle. These will result the average CPU temp down.
