How to set Dlink modem as bridge to Dlink router
I have a D-Link DSL-502T ADSL modem in bridge mode with a D-Link DIR-300 router. I cannot get the router to talk to the modem because of the message saying "cannot retrieve IP address from PPPOE server". I have the router in PPPoE mode and have entered the correct username/password for my ISP. How can I set my D-link modem as bridge to D-link router?
Re: How to set Dlink modem as bridge to Dlink router
Are you using a straight through or crossover cable to connect the router to the dsl modem? Also if possible then reconfirm the username and password from the ISP in order to avoid any mistakes. Generally people do mistakes in username and passwords and faces lots of problems. There is no shame in reconfirming the username and password from ISP.

What do you mean by D-Link DSL-502T ADSL modem in bridge mode? Have you bypassed the router function? If so then connect modem to one of the LAN port of router and your computer to the another LAN port. Now read this for more information on bridge connection.

The D-Link DSL-502T is a router and so it should be having some NAT firewalls that is restricting the bridge connection. Or there may be come other settings that you need to change on your devices in order to accept the bridge connections. Just google for it and you will definitely find some guide on bridge connection.
