Hello, I have Windows media player 11 on xp sp3, i want to activate the the external subtitles, i have kept the .srt and .txt file in the same folder with movie. I burn the dvd but windows media player 11 and windows media center both doesn't play the subs. Any idea how can i enable them?

Download the DirectVobSub (VSFilter) 2.39
DirectVobSub is simply a DirectShow filter which can be used to display subtitle. It integrates automatically with any DirectShow player like the Windows Media Player, Media Player Classic, The Core Media Player and others.
Re: How to open subs in wmp ?
To enable subs in the Windows Media Player 11 menu, you have make sure to set the following:
- Play > Captions and Subtitle > English
- Tools > Option > Security > Show local caption when present as below.
Re: How to open subs in wmp ?
Playing back an .mkv video outputs all subtitles, even when they’re speaking english, which I perfect understand and do not need a subtitle for. I’m thinking this is due to the creator of the .mkv not encoding only the subtitles for the foreing language, but all subtitles. (RE: maybe the source is bad) – happens on all of my mkv’s, however.
