How to scan on HP F4180 printer
I bought HP Deskjet F4180 printer cum scanner from one of my friend and i am using it with my Windows Vista operating system. The problem is that when I push the Scan button, the power light flashes for 10 seconds, then stops. I won't scans the document. I tried it many times but no response.Do we need to install any certain program ? Please let me know how can i scan with HP F4180 printer ?

Most probably this happens due to lack of needed drivers. Go to hp.com and find out the needed drivers, install them and try to scan. Also do check if the printer is in sleep mode,if yes turn it off and restart you printer again. i was also facing the same problem with my printer. I just reinstalled the drivers and restarted the printer. Thats it.. It was working fine. Hope this will work for you as well.

I will suggest you to check for the scanners drivers installed properly. Check it in the Control panel > Scanners. Before scanning something try copying from the machine,it will help you to isolate the issue from a hardware issue. If you won't able to find the drivers there. just download it from the HP's official site. If it is there and still not working than just try reinstalling the drivers. Hope you will get fixed the problem.

Thank you very much friends. The problem was the uninstalled scanner drivers. I dint found any scanner drivers in the system, so i downloaded it from the hp.com and finally my printer is working very nice. Thanks for the quick and valuable help. Keep it up :thumbup1: :thumbup1:
