How to set the screen resolution for Acer Aspire one 1024x768 a1ctl
I have Acer Aspire one Laptop, the screen resolution of my laptop seems to be very dull, I have tried several options to change the resolution but didn't find proper solution on it, I think there would be different settings to get it enabled on Aspire machine.
Re: How to set the screen resolution for Acer Aspire one 1024x768 a1ctl
First you need to install the a1ctl utility on your machine, then configure your system resolution from there, for a1ctl there would be small icon will appear at the bottom corner which will allows you to view at a glance how the temperature of the processor and access to a series of menus directly on the environment of the machine. You can easily adjust the fan speed of the machine or change the resolution on the fly to display 1024 x 768 (or scroll vertically in the screen or by adapting it to 1024 x 600 pixels and distorting real the image).

Re: How to set the screen resolution for Acer Aspire one 1024x768 a1ctl
A1ctl Utility is a small Windows utility that gives technically the Acer Aspire One users more control over their hardware. a1ctl is a program utility that allows the user to control the fan speed of the Acer Aspire One netbooks, and do some useful other things. It was inspired by EEEctl. With this utility you are allowed to adjust things like the fan speed, CPU usage, and the screen resolution. In the screen resolution options, you can toggle between 1024 x 600, 800 x 600, and 1024 x 768. Since that last one is actually more pixels than the Aspire One screen can technically display, you can either use some downscaling action to squash 4:3 resolution to fit on the netbook’s 16:10 screen or scroll up and down a bit to see the top or bottom of your screen.

Re: How to set the screen resolution for Acer Aspire one 1024x768 a1ctl
Try to download the same from the below post link. It is a nice software for software control and management of the Acer Aspire One. The version which I had attached to this post looks now stable and can take control of your Aspire One in the same manner as EeeCTL takes the ascendancy over the EeePC. There are some bugs in that also you can check the same once.

Resolution can be set easily after installing the A1ctl. I have tried it on my laptop and it works. As you said, are you getting error while installing the file or while downloading ? If it is while downloading than try different browser because and download it comfortably.
Re: How to set the screen resolution for Acer Aspire one 1024x768 a1ctl
I have tried this on my netbook but it doesn't seem to change the screen res at all - I'm running win 7 starter on aspire one A0521. I can get the program running but the screen resolution fix doesn't do anything
Re: How to set the screen resolution for Acer Aspire one 1024x768 a1ctl
Ok, anyone with an acer aaspire one on Win 7 can forget about screen res settings and actl programs, they won;t fix the problem.
However there is a way, if your comfortable editing your register..
Go to Run command, type regedit and enter.
Once in here don;t mess around.
Select HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Video\{FEE9B7B8-B684-444A-BB90-505CAF0F90E4}
Now in sub folder 0000 select entry display1 downscaling support and set it to 1 instead of 0.
Save your settings and exit.
Now goto your display adapters setting and you will be able to set screen res to what you want.
Enjoy, took me hours to find it:biggrin:
