How to manually remove printer drivers
I was using Epson printer since post 5 years. Now it is almost died and so I bought a new HP Laser printer. I installed it successfully on my computer but now a new problem raised. I accidentally installed a foreign language driver. This displays me the menu in foreign language which I do not understand at all. Now everytime I try to uninstall the previous driver and reinstall the English driver, it still shows me foreign language. Why is that so? How do I manually remove the printer drivers?
Re: How to manually remove printer drivers
When you uninstall a printer, the driver is not removed from your disk. To remove printer drivers first open a command prompt and type: "net stop spooler". Then delete the printer driver on the Printers and Faxes. Right click on the printer and go to Drivers tab. Now restart your computer.

You can also delete it with the help of Registry Editor. Look for the below key in Registry Editor:
Quote:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\Print\Environments\Windows NT x86\Drivers\Version-x\printer_name
where,
Version-x is for operating system related drivers
printer_name is the name of the printer
Select and delete the printer_name key.

You can also remove the printer driver via Windows Explorer. Just go to %SystemRoot%\System32\Spool\Drivers\. Here open your product manufacturer sub folder. Here you will find another sub folder. Open it and finally delete the driver files. Just remember that you have to restart your computer once you have finished.
