Windows Server 2008 Network Hang
I have recently installed Windows Server 2008 SP2 on a HP ProLiant ML110 G5 server. I have two NIC's, one for external traffic (internet etc) and one for an internal network (LAN etc). Problem starts every morning I have to restart the machine to get the internal network running. What can the problem be? Once a restart has been done, the machine works properly until the next next morning. There is nothing in the error logs. This has been an issue for a few weeks now. Power management on both NIC's have been set to never turn off. Please help. Thanks. Regards, Michael.
Re: Windows Server 2008 Network Hang
This issue can occur if one of the network adapters is attached to an external network, on the multihomed domain controller, and if Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP) and Kerberos traffic between the internal and external networks is partially or completely restricted because of a Proxy, ISA Server, NAT Server or another firewall device.

Re: Windows Server 2008 Network Hang
It is a purely tcp/ip environment so I don't use a WINS server. Will this make any difference?
Re: Windows Server 2008 Network Hang
Did you check the firewall log? Is anyone intruding your network or playing tricks with it? This can hang a network. Check the firewall log, may be that would be able to help... :thumbup1:
