Live Messenger icon missing in system tray
Hi,
I am using Windows operating system. I have set the Windows Live Messenger to display an icon automatically in system tray when I connect to internet. But unfortunately, I am not able to find live messenger icon anywhere in the system tray. The live messenger icon is missing in my system tray.....can anyone help
Re: Live Messenger icon missing in system tray
- First, exit Windows Live Messenger completely - To do this, right-click on WLM button/icon on Taskbar and select Exit.
- Go to Start and locate WLM shortcut.
- Go to Compatibility tab. Tick the check box for Run this program in compatibility mode for under “Compatibility Mode”, and then select your Windows from the drop down list.
- Click OK.
- Run Windows Live Messenger.
Re: Live Messenger icon missing in system tray
Try this...
- Open Task Manager by pressing Ctrl+Alt+Del
- Click on "Processes" tab
- Highlight the "Explorer" process
- Click "End Process" -- This will stop your desktop.
- Click on "Applications" tab
- Click "New Task"
- Type "Explorer" and click OK. This will restart the explorer which manages the desktop.
Hopefully, the icon should return....all the best
