How to stop opening a new tab page in IE
hi,
In my Internet Explorer 8, when I open new tabs, by default the browser opens a "new tab page" or about:Tabs. Then it asks "what do you want to do next" and offers certain options.
I just don't want the tab welcome screen to appear on every tab page, I would rather prefer the blank tab. How to stop opening a new tab page in IE8 ?
any ideas.........kindly suggest !!
Re: How to stop opening a new tab page in IE
cause - when you open a new tab in Internet Explorer 8 Beta, the New Tab page (about:Tabs) opens by default.
solution - if you want to start with a blank page or your home page when opening new tab, you can perform these steps -
1. Open IE 8 >> Click Tools >> select Internet Options.
2. Under Tabs section, click Settings.
3. In When a new tab is opened, open:, choose an option from the drop down box. The available options are:
- A blank page
- The new tab page (default)
- Your first home page
4. Click OK >> OK.
Re: How to stop opening a new tab page in IE
Do this -
1. Access the Internet Options dialog box.
- If the menu bar is visible, click "Tools" - select "Internet Options".
- If the Command Bar is visible, click "Tools" - select "Internet Options".
- If neither are available, try typing Alt + T then O.
2. The "Internet Options" dialog box appears. Underneath "Tabs", click the "Settings" button.
3. The "Tabbed Browsing Settings" dialog box appears. Underneath "When a new tab is opened, open" click the pull-down and choose from the following options:
* A blank page
* The new tab page
* Your first home page
4. Click "OK" on the dialog boxes to save your settings.
