Can't run chkdsk
Ok, so I have brought up my command prompt and when I type in "chkdsk" or anything of the sort (chkdsk f, chkdsk c:, chkdsk etc.), it flashes what looks like the DOS window and then it disappears and nothing happens. on the DOS command window, it says "access denied, you do not have sufficient priviliges you have to invoke this utility in elevated mode"
Any help? I need to run chkdsk and it is not doing it, basically.

Re: Can't run chkdsk
For first
To run chkdsk /f in elevated privileges you need to do the following:
- go to the the Vista Orb (bottom left)
- Type cmd, but don't press enter
- Where "cmd.exe" appears above right click and choose run as administrator
- Click "Continue"
- You will now have an elevated cmd prompt where you can type "chkdsk c: /f"
Replace C: The drive you are checking , if it is the drive that vista is currently executing off you will get the message:
Chkdsk cannot run because the volume is in use by another process. Would you like to schedule this volume to be checked the next time the system restarts? (Y/N)
Select "y" to run chkdsk on reboot, or "n" to abort the command.
Second
What type of error you get ?
