Will intel E4300(1.8ghz) bottleneck radeon 4870 1gb?
Hi i need a fast reply if possible becoz my graphic card is sent for repairs coz its broken and i want to replace one with 4870 1gb and i have a intel motherboard 945G and has one PCI-E x16 slot not 2.0 version ok but i saw on forums that i can still use 4870 in PCI-E x16 slot since the card supports backward compatibility with PCI-E x16 only disadvantage is the bus speed of 8GB/s while on pci-E 2.0 its 16GB/s but i have an intel E4300 processor and my mother board does not support anyother processor than this will this processor bottleneck my radeon 4870 1gb plz reply and help me fast thank you

Well, I guess if you want to go for a 4870 graphic card then try upgrading your mobo + processor with support to pci-express x16 cards and that will be just fine for you.
Re: Will intel E4300(1.8ghz) bottleneck radeon 4870 1gb?
I don't think that it will be a problem with your processor but why you want to go for that particular card?
Try to for a card that will compliment your system configuration even if 4870 has a backward compatibility.
You can perhaps upgrade from the GeForce 7900 GS or Radeon X1650 XT you’d intended on purchasing up to a GeForce 7950 GT or Radeon X1950 Pro with no problem.
Re: Will intel E4300(1.8ghz) bottleneck radeon 4870 1gb?
well Joyjeet here is the answer to your question i have a 19 inch viewsonic monitor supporting max resolution of 1440x900 and the best graphic card at that resolution with max game settings will be either radeon 4870 or gtx 275 i already posted on which one to choose and i think radeon is cheaper and ok compared to gtx 275
and for ur answer EINSTEIN_007 i cant buy a new mobo and processor and graphic card they will cost a lot i will upgrade later but for now i have to make a choice
and how much powersupply do i need for my Radeon 4870 1gb???
Re: Will intel E4300(1.8ghz) bottleneck radeon 4870 1gb?
I think you will be needed 500 Watt or greater power supply with two 75W with 6-pin PCI Express power connectors would be recommended (600 Watt and four 6-pin connectors for ATI CrossFireX technology in dual mode) Certified power supplies are recommended.
Re: Will intel E4300(1.8ghz) bottleneck radeon 4870 1gb?
600W is minimum PSU rating that you will require. Instead go for a branded 750W PSU. The risk is not worth it, so better be safe then to be at risk...
Re: Will intel E4300(1.8ghz) bottleneck radeon 4870 1gb?
E4300 will not discernibly bottleneck that card. However, your memory and motherboard chip-set may be a different story. That chip-set is pretty terrible.
