Sony USB DSC driver unable to install
I have recently been gifted with the Sony Cybershot DSC-W70, we have taken lot of pictures from it and try to send it to the desktop computer with the help of USB port. I have windows Vista installed on my computer but it seems that Vista does not recognize the device. It cannot find any drivers, even on the Sony install CD. This is my first time i am transferring photos from my Cybershot to PC. Is there any different procedure that i need to follow.
Re: Sony USB DSC driver unable to install
This kind of problem would also be there if your windows vista version does not match with your DSC, Which version of Vista are you running? I had 5384 which does not recognized but later my DSC-R1 is recognized under Vista64. I have also read in some blogs that Vista32 also supports Sony DSC and allowed to either use the camera wizard for
downloading the files or to view the memory card as a hard drive.

Re: Sony USB DSC driver unable to install
To install the drivers you must need to follow the following steps:
- You need to Download the USBDRVEN.EXE DSC driver set from Sony.
- Right-click on the file and choose "Properties".
- Select the "Compatibility" tab available in the properties window.
- Select the "Run this program in compatibility mode for" checkbox and
- choose "Windows Vista32".
- Select "Apply" and "Ok" to close the properties dialog.
- To run the file double click the USBDRVEN.EXE file and the drivers will install to C:\Drivers\SonyUSB. Reboot when prompted.
