Dell Vostro 1500 laptop Monitor driver
I work on Dell Vostro 1500 laptop which is running with Windows XP Pro SP3. Yesterday for a presentation I connected a projector on this laptop and since them my resolution is stuck at 1024x768 whereas it use to be at 1280x800.I am not able to change it in any way. Also the screen has gone very dark though the brightness is set at 100%.
To find out the problem I opened Device Manager and surprisingly found 3 monitors with the same name listed over there, that is Digital Flat Panel (1024x786). I simply uninstalled all of them and rebooted the laptop. When it system came back and I checked Device manager all 3 monitors reappeared again but the problem still remained there.
Now I think it is the driver problem. Can anyone please tell me where can I get the drivers for the same or is there is any other way of fixing this problem, please tell me that as well. Many thanks for all your helps.
re: Dell Vostro 1500 laptop Monitor driver
You can all the drivers required directly from Dell’s official download website. Just enter the model/make of your laptop and download. Its simple. Apart from this, also try downloading/installing latest video card driver and utility from its manufacturer’s website. You can also try updating the chipset and other drivers for safer side. You can get that from here http://downloadcenter.intel.com/Prod...=2800&lang=eng
re: Dell Vostro 1500 laptop Monitor driver
First of all I don’t think connecting a project wll cause so many problems from the software (XP) end. It could be hardware as well. What I want to suggest you is arrange Ubuntu/linux bootable CD and try booting your laptop with the same. See if the Monitor works fine with it. See if you are able to change the resolution and brightness. If yes, then probably re-installing Windows XP will fix the problem and if not, then there is some hardware problem and you need to get it checked with Dell Service Center.
