But Vista on laptop won't show up the wifi connection. There router is connected by CAT5 wire to my desktop computer. I know that my router is working fine. Any ideas? Please help...
Re: Connect to a wireless network that doesn't show up
Are you sure about the router? Is it really working fine? If yes then you must enable wifi on the router. You can do the configurations from the desktop that is wired to the router. Just make sure you enable wifi and use a WEP or WPA protection to stop intruder from connecting into your router. All the best!
Re: Connect to a wireless network that doesn't show up
I have never configured the router before. I have a netgear router. I thought routers are just plug and play. Well can anyone help me with the configuration of my router, will be very helpful... My router is Netgear WGR614 54Mbps 802.11g
Re: Connect to a wireless network that doesn't show up
Configure your router via Internet Explorer or any web browser like Mozilla Firefox, Opera, etc...
- Log in to router web interface using http:\\192.168.0.1 or http:\\192.168.1.1 (depending upon the ip address of the router)
- username : admin ,Password : admin (unless changed)
- Click wireless settings under setup
- Make security as WEP
- Security type : automatic
- Encryption strength : 64 bit
- Put a check mark on key 1 & typein any 10 digit key & apply the settings.
- Then from your wireless computer try connecting to your wireless network which will prompt you to enter the wep key.Just enter the 10 digit key & confirm the same and click connect.
- Now you have enabled wep for your wireless network and it's secure.

Re: Connect to a wireless network that doesn't show up
Hi medway,
Do you mean that you have a Netgear WGR614 54Mbps that you cant connect online to a diablo wifi cam? I think that you must first enable WEP in Diablo configuration and enter password. You can also try to put a manual ip address that had worked for me like below:
routers ip is 192.168.1.1
ip address : 192.168.1.16
subnet mask: 255.255.255.0
router: 192.168.1.1
primary DNS: same as router id
secondary DNS: 0.0.0.0
Re: Connect to a wireless network that doesn't show up
