computer wont anymore even if i change the bios settings.
im using a gigabyte x48 ds5 mobo
and a intel q9550 at 2.8ghz
4gb of 800mhz ram
i did a o/c from 2.8ghz to 3.4 to 3.8 then it failed.
my temps stayed at around 30c for 3.4ghz

There are two ways. First always unplug the computer, ground yourself, then move the jumper (check manual) from pins 1 & 2 to pins 2 & 3. After a few minutes, return it to the normal position. You can also just remove the motherboard battery for a few and return it to like it was. Then, fire it up.
Some motherboards are equipped with fail safe hardware where if the system starts to fail at current bios settings, it will revert the bios back to default settings. Sounds like your bios encountered a problem at one of your previous start ups and reset itself back to default. No it isn't necessarily a problem with your hardware, you might have just not have set the voltages set high enough or could have been a problem with just too much FSB for the power of your processor. 1 FSB number can throw the stability of your system off from a good boot up...
