Magicjack cannot recognized by computer
Hi,
I am using Magicjack from last 2-3 months. It was working fine. But now it is not recognized by computer. I am running windows XP. I also have voice problems with Magicjack. I can't hear voice clearly as it is dropping one ot two words in one sentence. Can anyone help?
Thank you in advance.
Re: Magicjack cannot recognized by computer
Reinstall the Magicjack and get the latest windows xp compatible drivers. Also try another USB jack and plug in and search for the device in Device manager.
Re: Magicjack cannot recognized by computer
Try following:
- Right click on My Computer
- Go to Properties
- Click on Hardware tab
- Then click Device Manager
- Expand Universal Serial Bus Controllers
- Right Click Universal Host Controller and Uninstall
Now try to plug in and recognize the Magicjack device. MagicJack will operate better when it is connected to a USB hub that has its own power source. Often times a computer's USB drive is not strong enough to handle the workload of a MagicJack phone.
Re: Magicjack cannot recognized by computer
If the "autorun" is disabled in your computer, then you need to open the faux CD drive shown in My Computers. After running it, you have to click on the desktop shortcut to run it every time.
If you have any voice problems, it is because the Windows XP limits concurrent TCP connections to 10, which is absurdly low, this may be part of the reason for some of the problems. You can download and run TCP Optimizer at speedguide.net to optimize tcp settings.
Re: Magicjack cannot recognized by computer
After talking to magic jack tech support for more than an hour and reading all forums for about a week, I finally got it fixed. Initially magic jack was not recognized by my computer but now after trying the following, its working real good.
* Right click on My Computer
* Go to Properties
* Click on Hardware tab
* Then click Device Manager
* Expand Universal Serial Bus Controllers
* Find USB composite device
I found a yellow mark with a exclamatory sign on USB composite device. It means the USB composite device is not enabled or active. So right click on it and uninstall.
Then restart your computer and now magic jack works like magic.
