Hey!
Thanks a lot man! This is what i was looking for... Actually i have 8GB memory and i cannot use the entire 6GB memory with Windows 7 64-bit. Now i tried this trick and on reboot i was able to utilize 6GB of memory as 2GB was reserved for hardware devices. I reffered this post : http://forums.techarena.in/motherboa...am/1175521.htm which led me here. Thanks a lot once again! :notworthy

Hello Baker what parameters did you type into virtual memory to utilize the additional 6GB e.g. intial and maximum size - I'm useless at maths. I also have 8GB with 64bit OS Windows 7 Ultimate.
Hope you can help
Thanks Robert.

Baker, you still have a problem. I also have 8GB of memory but only 71MB reserved for hardware. That Windows has 2GB marked as hardware reserve means that it is there, but for some reason Windows can't use it. It could be a mismatch between ram banks.

You can try to set the number of Processors and memory for booting in msconfig. Type msconfig in the 'Search for programs and files' bar at the bottom of the start menu. Go to the 'Boot' tab. Click advanced options. Untick 'Number of Processors' and 'Maximum Memory'. Restart your computer. Hope it works, but if you never messed with this setting, it shouldn't change by itself, i.e. both boxes should be unticked by default.
Re: Change Virtual Memory/PageFile Size in Windows 7
I am looking for a tool that can help me to manage Windows page file as I keep working. I tried to find but there is nothing provided on that. You will need to control the page file on the basis of inbuilt process. But do not much play with that. If you found your system utilizing too much page file, simply add more number of ram sticks in your system and then check back. This will improve your system performance.
