USB Hard Drive Not Showing Up
Hi, I have an old hard drive which was getting used in my older hard drive (its mobo is dead now). My new PC is running with Windows XP. As I needed some important data from my older HDD, I packed it in USB external enclosure and connected with this new desktop. I can see system installing its drivers and all in the system tray. Later I got message also saying installation was successful. I can even see this drive in Disk management but it is not showing up in My computer or windows explorer.
Tried connecting in various ports but yet the same. I thought to transfer the files in safe mode but it is not getting detected even in safe mode. Any idea what could be the problem?
Re: USB Hard Drive Not Showing Up
Well reasons could be many for this problem but lets talk about solutions. If you have laptop-to-IDE adapter then simply connect the drive directly to the host computer as a slave. Or if you dont want to do that then your USB enclosure might be faulty. You probably need a new one.
