Need to install .msi files in Linux OS
Hello, I have changed my computer to Linux from Windows. I have an issue with this system as i am new to linux OS. Whenever i am trying to install any .msi file in my computer, i get error "wine: could not load L"Z:\\home\\war10ck\\torrentz\\Camtasia Studio V5.0.1.453+Patch-HeartBug\\camtasia.msi": Bad EXE format for Wine failed with return code 193".
What should i do. How can i install these .msi files in linux ?
Re: Need to install .msi files in Linux OS
Msi files are mostly setups of applications and Windows but you can install in Linux with Wine. It is a great way to install Windows Installer files in Linux. To install .msi in Linux, type msiexec /i installer.msi in terminal, where installer.msi is the name of your msi file.
Thats it..
Re: Need to install .msi files in Linux OS
MSI's are windows installer files, not for ubuntu, but if you have wine, you can cd to the directory the msi is in, and then run
Quote:
sudo wine SteamInstaller.msi
