UGC (University Grants Commission) NET Exam
University Grants Commission UGC holds the National Eligibility Test (NET) for determining the eligibility of Indian nationals for the Award of Junior Research Fellowships (JRF) and eligibility for Lectureship in Indian universities and colleges. Thousand of candidates appear for the test conducted twice a year. Today we are posting the details of the pattern of the UGC NET Exam.
The UGC NET Test consists of three papers. They are divided into two separate sessions. The breakup of the papers is as follows:
First - Paper I Marks - 100 Duration - 1¼ Hours
First - Paper II Marks - 100 Duration - 1¼ Hours
First - Paper III Marks - 200 Duration - 2½ Hours

Paper-I
This paper is of general nature, intended to assess the teaching/research aptitude of the candidate. It is designed to test reasoning ability, comprehension, divergent thinking and general awareness of the candidate.
Paper-II shall consist of short questions based on the subject selected by the candidate. Both Paper I and Paper II consist of a 50 objective type questions.
Paper-III
This part consists of only descriptive questions from the subject selected by the candidate. The candidate will be required to attempt questions in the space provided in the Test Booklet.
