windows xp for toshiba keeps freezing help needed

hi my toshiba tecra T9100 has windows xp put on it recently and a new hard drive my sister decided to do some downloading of the illegal kind and the next day it went kaput!

im not very good at these things!

since then the laptop will not turn on it may get to the log on stage but then freeze. it will ask to start in safe mode and freeze.

today i put in my copy of windows xp to see if i could wipe the pc and start again but it wont let the disk start i can hear the disk drive and the fan but its just not doing anything.

any help would be appretiated

You probably have a failing motherboard or another pending hardware failure in this Toshiba. Take it in for repair, if its still under warranty then its advantage for you. But i recommend you for a repair service center of Toshiba.

its the problem of your RAM not the hard disc. the problem occur because of less memory available for processing. so please once remove the RAM and again insert it and reboot your laptop......

I have generally found Toshiba's tech support very helpful, although with the call center it greatly depends on who you end up talking to.

could anyone tell me where the ram is located and how i take it out please!
