Celeron E1400 Processor Vs Pentium 4 3.2 GHz Processor
hello
I just have a small query regarding processor. I am currently running Pentium 4 3.2 ghz processor which works excellent with my intel original motherboard. I just wanted to know that how does celeron e1400 as compared to my processor in terms of performance, games and compatibility. I also want to know that whether I can replace my processor instead of celeron e1400

You benefit with the Celeron. After a bit of Googling and looking at benchmarks, the Celeron achieves a 3DMark06 CPU score of 1488. I couldn't exactly find the 640 Prescott, but I went with the 650 Prescott, which had a score of 1024, so you'd expect something around 980 with the 640.

Celeron E1400 Heatsink. While it is small, it does the job for normal clock speeds. If you plan to overclock, buy a better heatsink. As to those complaining about mounting them... Well I will agree they can be a bit harder than some of the others, they will not break your board. You only need to press them in till they click. I have had the couple occasions where it seemed I was unable to put enough pressure to get them to click. In those cases, I would support the motherboard from the back as I press them in. I normally mount these AFTER they are installed into the case. I have NOT had any come loose afterwards and I have built several.

The Intel Pentium 4 Processor really is one of the most reliable processors u can find over the counter. but you have to be a technician in order to match your parts like the fsb of the northbrige, the ram, and the processor itself that has many versions. unlike amd processors, there's n hassle at all, no need to change ur power supply (if u already have at least 300 watts). with pentium 4 processors, you made a mistake in buying parts then it will run like pentium 3.
Re: Celeron E1400 Processor Vs Pentium 4 3.2 GHz Processor
The additional instruction sets in the celeron will definitely help in some applications. There may be a few instances where the P4's clockspeed will give it an edge, but the fact is you can overclock that celeron to the moon, in which case there will be no competition.
Another vote for the Celeron. Was never a fan, but it's a winner in this situation. I doubt the older netburst based P4 clockspeed will be relevant in any benchmark, although I might be wrong.
