Replace Router With Ethernet Switch
hi,
I need some advice on router, switch selection. my question is what is the most cost efficient way to get 24 ports and wifi capability? i have Cisco877-K9 Router i don't need it as a router anymore, can i just use it as a switch/hub, just plug into the pc ports and no need to use wan connection.so i want to ask is that possible to replace it with Cisco Catalyst 2960-48TT-L.Any recommendations and suggestions are appreciated.

The SFP ports allow for you to insert GBICs for various fibre interfaces. Unless your planning on using fibre you do not need them.

Ok this is what you need to do.
1. A cable from the modem to the switch.
2. A cable from the switch to your computer.
3. A cable from the switch to your kids computer.
