Codec Not Installed?
I have several video files in mpeg format recorded by my Panasonic digital camcorder. I want to import them on my Windows XP SP3 running Windows Movie Maker. But whenever I try doing the same, it gives me an error saying something like the codec is not on my system. Here is the complete error message:
“Cannot be imported because the codec required to play the file is not installed on your computer. If you have already tried to download and install the codec, close and restart Windows Movie Maker, and then try to import the file again”
If I’m not wrong, .mpeg is a common format supported in Windows systems. Any idea what codec do I need to install?

It is not compulsory all .mpeg videos will work in Windows Movie Maker. They work sometime but sometimes not. Here are some articles which I’ll suggest you to go through:
