Why intel x58 support only triple-channel?
hi,
I am just about to upgrade my pc to i7 working on Asus P6T with intel x58 that supports triple channel. I found that triple channel memory kits are pretty rare on the market, but of course there is a lot of dual channel kits. Will they work in a triple channel mode?and why did the new x58 chipset only triple channel?
Re: Why intel x58 support only triple-channel?
The bandwidth would be for the desktop operating already with 1066 DDR3 and DC was completely good.Trippel channel more of the server area there will be added depending on the application.the new middle class desktop CPUs based on Core i7 (i5) have only DC.
Re: Why intel x58 support only triple-channel?
At Triple Channel, all six modules, all three channel used to improve the bandwidth. A quad-channel would be anyway but only from 8 modules possible, or not? Where are dual 8 RAM slots.

It is an X58-based motherboard that supports Intel’s new generation extreme performance Core i7 Processors as well as both SLI and CrossFireX! Six SATA ports with RAID 0, 1, 5, and 10 gives you plenty of storage options. Memory support includes up to 16GB of Triple Channel DDR3 memory.
