Re: Microsoft Excel has stopped working
To fix the issue you will need to turn of Data Execution Prevention. It is causing issue. Navigate to Control Pane > System Maintenance > System > Advanced System Settings. In that you have to go in System Properties Window and from the top choose Performance. In that you can see Settings click on it and the click on Data Execution Prevention. You have to turn choose Turn on DEP for all programs and services except those I select. Later on click on Browse and then go to folder: C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office12. Click on the same and save changes. Then test back.

Running a repair installation will also help you in fixing the issue. You can do that through Control Panel. Go in Uninstall Programs and in that click on Microsoft Office. Then choose Change from the top bar and run a repair setup. Then test back. There can be issue with some internal plugin or some macro which is causing the crash. By running a repair setup the issue can be resolved. If this also does not work then remove it completely and install it back again.
