I have a Sony Vaio with windows XP as a operating system on it.
I run a chkdisk option which have stared my laptop to reboot continuously.
Please help me regarding this problem
ANY HELP WOULD BE APPRECIATED
Re: Chkdisk Makes Constant Reboot to my Laptop
Reboot your system and press F8. Select the "Last Known Good' from the boot menu.
I guess this may help you

Another option would be to go into Command Prompt (by pressing F8 as above), and prevent chkdsk from checking drive C:
chkntfs /x c:
Keep in mind that you may have legitimate errors on Drive C, so I'd backup your data if you do get in.
Re: Chkdisk Makes Constant Reboot to my Laptop
I wonder Did you have anything installed like Norton go back / Symanted Antivirus / Zonealarm? I did some research on the net, and I see that alot of people have this issue when they remove one of those pieces of software, or when they are using some partition tools (i.e. dual boot).

Another solution, open your C:MSDOS.SYS file in Notepad. Scroll to the bottom of the screen until you see the command line AutoScan=1. Change it to AutoScan=0. If the line isn't there, add it at the bottom.
