Overclocked a Q9300 on a P5K
Hello everyone,
I overclocked my Q9300 to 3ghz putting 400 FSB with multiplicati co-efficient to 7.5. It marks on my that my FSB is at 1600MHz. My motherboard Asus P5K (P35 chip) is a FSB of 1066. I am in the process of damaging my motherboard (and worse) my components?
It is there someone proficient more than I could confirm that the proper ratio FSB / Multiplier to get to 1066 if the stay. I also saw (may be of interest) that despite the fact that I put the mutliplicater to 7.5 on CPUZ it remains to be 6.0. It would be a restraint of my motherboard ? Thank you for taking the time to read, Looking forward to your responses.

just check the Temperature, but normally it does not risk. You have a 267MHz FSB that you have risen to 400MHz to overclock your processor, nothing special I think is a overclock all that is normal. By why against lower coefficient CPU ?

You throw a bench there at 6?
Re: Overclocked a Q9300 on a P5K
Being a bench 3dmark or something like that? Je l'ai pas encore testé. I have not yet tested. Temperatures are 26-28 ° C but ca good early start and all that is running windows.
I do not think I lowered coefficient. In any case I had put in 7.5. As against the window on CPUZ it remains at 6.0. I wondered if it was a problem with the Do I make something else?
At this point I have not played with the voltages or the speed of RAM. But the question that occupied me for the first time ('m beginner:)) this question FSB to 1600. On my Asus P5K there is a FSB of 1066 (or came to my idea above RAM 1066 ..)
Re: Overclocked a Q9300 on a P5K
In fact I just watch the normal Q9300 FSB is 1333 (FSB 333MHz) and the coefficient is to 7.5. The coefficient drops to 6 which is normally when the CPU does not work (it starts at rest)

Where? The P5K is a motherboard with an FSB of 1600 max normally. The BIOS of your motherboard is it updated ?
on the Asus site it says:
"The Intel P35 Express Chipset is the latest chipset designed to support the next generation 45nm CPU; and up to 8GB of dual-channel DDR2 800/667 MHz memory architecture. It also supports 1600/1333/1066/800 FSB (Front Side Bus), PCI Express x16 graphics and multi-core CPUs."
And if the 1066 FSB and 1066 of the RAM it has absolutely nothing to do.
Re: Overclocked a Q9300 on a P5K
Ah yes - you're right. I had to hover over the frequency of RAM and I am confound. Pardon my fault. I will download 3dmark with me later and I see what it is - Thanks for your responses.
