Graphics Card Driver Problem in DELL Computer
hi
Few day's back my computer was struck by virus and i had to format it in order to completely remove the virus from my hard drive. I installed XP operating system from the Dell restore cds and it was working fine. Then i thought of installing my Nvidia GeForce FX 5200 graphic card driver. Instead of using the 4 year old driver from the Dell cd I decided to download the up dated driver from the nvidia website. After installing the drver and restarting the display was completely forced to 640 x 480 resolution and 4 bit color. I tried very much changing these settings but there no possibilities to choose from. I then un installed and reinstalled the drivers from the cd and computer now is un able to boot. The monitor turn on and then turn off then turn on then turn off and would continue many times.
Please help me as i am unable to stop this
Re: Graphics Card Driver Problem in DELL Computer
That means it did not install right. When you double clicked on the file it is suppose to install, look in your C: directory for nVidia folder then see if there is a setup file in there or right click on the graphics entry in device manager and then update driver, then point it to that folder.
Re: Graphics Card Driver Problem in DELL Computer
he problem is caused by an old video driver (circa 2003).
When the latest driver fron NVidia drivers page is installed the
problem goes away:
http://www.nvidia.com/object/winxp_175.16_whql.html
The following version of the driver is confirmed to have resolved the issue:
[I] Vendor Id : 0x10de
[I] Device Id : 0x0322
[I] SubSys Id : 0x1b910de
[I] Driver Version : 6.14.11.7516
[I] GUID : {D7B71E3E-4062-11CF-326E-B22100C2CB35}
