No mixer devices.
I did this program called Dell TechKnow...and got a free computer. It was working fine at school, sound and everything, but now I don't have sound. Every time I go to volume control it says..."There are no active mixer devices available." I also don't have a multimedia audio controller??
I have no idea what that is, but it has a big yellow question mark next to it, and everytime I TRY to fix it, it says code 28. So I have no idea how to do anything about mixer devices! I need help. I have this thing called Everest which told me a bunch of crap about my computer, but I have no idea what any of it means so My mother board is Dell OptiPlex GX260 and Audio is Device Description Intel 82801DB ICH4 - AC'97 Audio Controller [A-1] Device ID 8086-24C5 Please help! I need sound!

Re: No mixer devices.
You might have received a CD with your computer or motherboard, right? It should have the sound driver. Just run the CD. And if you dint received any CD with your system then simply go to Dell Website, select your MOBO model and download the drivers.
That’s it.
