Two hard drive on Gigabyte motherboard
hi,
I bought a motherboard Gigabyte GA-73PVM-S2H and I wonder if I can install two hard drives. I found what a hard drive to e-sata, but I can not find a place to put the second IDE.
In addition, there is a blue water which provided a bit green and the other blue is for the optical drive or a hard drive?
I have a second blue water (with the original part for me a little twisted). She has two black ends.
There is a good IDE but I will use my optical drive.
Thank you.
Re: Two hard drive on Gigabyte motherboard
You have only one location for your IDE cable.
You can put your hard drive on it with your optical drive but the pc could put a lot of time to boot.
Otherwise you can put an optical drive into sata. So your hard drive alone on the water.
Re: Two hard drive on Gigabyte motherboard
I understood everything and I still ask for a clarification:
1 I'm happy to have discovered all alone (but you confirm me, which reassures me) that there was only one location IDE.
2 I will put my 2nd hard drive on this site
3 In my Plextor drive, I did not know that I could set Sata!

3 SATA ports, there's enough to make ...

not e-sata,SATA which is replacing the standard IDE for storage devices and optical devices (player and recorder)

you take the problem the wrong way, although it is easier to find recorders and scanners in FDI, it is becoming more "difficult" to find a (good) IDE hard drive.
Re: Two hard drive on Gigabyte motherboard
I actually want to install an optical drive and a 2nd IDE hard disk (which I salvaged from another PC).
how to put this player and this 2nd hard drive (a WD)/.
I will put my drive on a SATA but I thought it was IDE!

hi,
Not, no problem before sata, many machine was used like this.
Re: Two hard drive on Gigabyte motherboard
However, you can use your ide if your HD is not too far from your IDE: it must be that your IDE cable is well equipped with 3 outlets (1 at each end and intermediate).
You branches on the ground IDE port of the CM, the intermediate and the HD in the end to drive. In this configuration, to think the HD Master and Slave recorder, because if you stay in Cable Select is the drive to be Master and Slave HD.An IDE port is scheduled for 2 devices so you do not risk anything in conflict or other problem.
