Change Primary Email Domain and Remote Access URL SBS 2008
One of my friends is an Administrator of SBS 2008 box and due to some reason he wants to change the primary email domain and remote access url which as at present set to secondary email domain. He don’t know how to do it, neither do I. So I need some help regarding the same. I wanted to know whether I can do the same by running Internet Address Management Wizard?
If I’m not wrong I think doing this will overwrite the existing domain's email policies, isn’t it? Anyways, I gave it a try earlier and it overwrites the old primary domain. Can anyone here provide some help on this?

Before I could provide you some solution I would like to know whether you using any 3rd party cert or a self signed certificate?

As of now i'm using self signed certificate, but will put a third party in once the domain has changed. What now?

Did you get this done? What was the process as we have to do the same. Thanks.

You should be very careful about removing remote prefix. THe SBS patches (3 from the release of SBS 2008) won't install if they can't find remote prefix. The problem is the too simplist wizard in SBS 2008 (SBS 2003 was much better), where you can't dissociate mail domain and remote access.

OK, thanks. We are intending to change the remote access to "remote.newdomain.etc". Probably after changing the primary domain over (unless there's another way). I guess as "remote." is still the same that's "safe" for us.

I have just bought a Godaddy cert. but not installed it yet. Does anyone know if when the last aprt of the install is complete SBS "switches" to it so I will immediately loose my remote connection?
