Disk Boot Failure
Today, when I turned on my computer a message appears:
DISK BOOT FAILURE, RESET SYSTEM DISK AND PRESS ENTER
I, then, try in the bios to change the first boot device by making the CD and inserting the windows CD but always the same message ...
The problem is turned up overnight. Someone with an idea?
Thank you and Happy New Year

Re: Disk Boot Failure
Try to reset your bios to its original version (default) by disconnecting the power and the battery from motherboard, reboot and see if your bios recognizes the drives.

Re: Disk Boot Failure
It's odd that you are getting the same message with the CD. Check the BIOS settings.
If the settings are OK, it means that despite the boot sequence, the computer boots ultimately on the hard disk. In this case, check the connections and also the power supply.

Re: Disk Boot Failure
Visit manufacturers web site and download testing tools to test HDD for possible bad sectors... or try new IDE/SATA cable.
