Although the price difference is remarkable I would like to know which plays better oc and which has the highest ceiling in terms of the OC.
The i7 is worth the same as the q9550, both OC, which plays better?

I would say it will cost you less oc the q9550, with a good motherboard x48 chipset, luxury.
Best regards.
It is quite true that the prices between the Q9550 and Core i7 920 are very similar, but you have to consider that to assemble a combination of architecture at Corei7 should invest more in the budget on the motherboard and DDR3 RAM.
The Q9550 OCEA well, provided they have a good plate and a good system cooling.
the Q9550 for budget and performance.
The Q9550 is cooler temperatures of the Q6600, but if you have an excellent cooling system, oc the Q6600 does not reflect a bad result.
Like thought put DDR3.
In terms of whether there is a price difference in motherboards, i7 between architecture and a Q9550.
I'm going there for a Q9550
thanks.
What do you mean with a good cooling system?
A more powerful fan? Water or Cooling?
Because if requires Cooling Water budget grows sufficiently.
When I speak of a good cooling system, is in reference to a sink in conjunction Cooler more of a performance which brought the original processor, as the yield on the stock heatsinks and coolers are nothing good, much less if you do OC.
In reference to liquid cooling system, if it is costly, it is recommended that by arming parties need to have a good base budget, but to pay either a CO can be heatsinks get very good brands such as Cooler Master, Thermal take among many other brands, reflecting dissipation of excellent quality at a price not so high as to acquire a liquid cooling system.
I do not think it worthwhile to buy i7 still, for now the technology is too expensive for what it is, while keeping the Core2Duo or the Phenom platform is most convenient for my taste, plus the shift to DDR3 still does not appear to have advantages DDR2 rights.
This would be a good cooling Noctua NH-U12P Special Edition Core i7: Fans Cpu: Shop Components and Peripherals
Also, if you read reviews on the internet you will notice that the performance difference between a good DDR2 at a good price and a very expensive DDR3 is a 1 or 2% and in games is completely invalid.
