XP Reinstallation - Stuck at "Installing Devices"
My pc was infected with tons of virus. It was working slow and ample of my data was damaged. I borrowed a XP installation cd from my friend. I am not having any cd left with me. At the time of format the setup begins fine and it shows the completion time would lies around 33 mins. But it stucked on installing devices. It is almost a hour the screen was stucked on that place. Should I begin the same back from scratch.
RE: XP Reinstallation - Stuck at "Installing Devices"
Looks like some internal hardware is causing conflict with your system. It is necessary that at the time of performing a setup you can simply disconnect any additional hardware connected to your pc. Like a printer, or any usb drive. Just leave the key and mouse attached. Some new hardware in your system is causing the issue and the driver installation is causing the problem. Just disconnect everything even any pci card in your system and then try the installation back.

I had gone with the same kind of issue with an damaged disc. The cd came with my pc at the time of purchase. But when I was using the same for installation there was some problem. The cd was not proper due to which the system was not working fine. When I changed the disc the installation went proper. It is essential that you must test the disc or arrange a working cd. I am sure that will be enough.
