Asus P5Q-E, one of Asus' three budget-minded P45 motherboards, this one supporting CrossfireX, with two x 8 slots, and one x 4 slot (the primary PCI-E slot is x 16 when a single video card is used). It also sports heatpipe chipset cooling, and other features we'd expect only on Asus boards costing much more, all with an energy-saving theme. The Asus P5Q-E supports DDR2 ram upto DDR2-1200* (by overclocking), so it's great for users who's already using DDR2 ram on their existing system. And looking at the specifications, the P5Q-E has a lot to offer than most motherboards. Take for example the internal power-on and reset switches, the wealth of connectors on the ATX I/O rear panel and all of the innovative features from Asus. As far as performance is concerned, we're expecting the P5Q-E to compete very well against both the X38 and X48 based mothebroards. Well, I've been told by one of our in-house overclockers that the P5Q-E (even though it's a mainstream board) is very good at overclocking. I can't wait to see what this motherboard can do.

Looks nice, still awaiting a board that works. See Cons. If i were not stuck in the loop of RMAs right now and would have returned it to Fr@s within the 15 day period, I would have went X58 for sure. Second RMA, First time install, Raid would not work with 2 WD Velociraptors 300gigx2, on any sata port. No speeding Hard drive and No Intel Matrix Raid Utility. The first RMA return took 2 weeks. The second one I just recieved today, was DOA, would not post to BIOS at all. tried every trick in the book including power on w/o any other devices. LCD Poster still read Power Off. Switched out a brand new PSU same thing. All my componants are brand new and verified GOOD. I even sent back a q9450 from the first go round thinking it may have been a part of the problem.
