SBS2008 RWW - Connect to computer Authentication
Connect to computer authentication failing on SBS2008.
Connecting to desktops worked up until 2 days ago
Symptom is I keep getting prompted for Enter your credential.
"
The credentials will be used to connect to the following
computers.
1. TS Gateway server
2. Remote computer
"
Tried Domain/Username and just Username. Any input would be appreciated.
RE: SBS2008 RWW - Connect to computer Authentication
Hello CISTech, you need to first ensure that Domain Users group has been granted the connect permission properly and resource access permissions to connect to the TS Gateway server. You can check this by clicking Start > Administrative tools > Terminal Services > TS Gateway manager. Here make sure that Domain Users group is listed under Connection Authorization Polices. Also make sure that Domain Users group is listed over there.
Re: SBS2008 RWW - Connect to computer Authentication
Thanks for the input. I was able to resolve the issue by enabling windows authentication on the rpc portion of SBS Web Applications in IIS.
Re: SBS2008 RWW - Connect to computer Authentication
I thought i cracked it when i seen this post. However, i have the exact same issue but my basic windows authentication is on the RPC IIS directory.
Is there any other options that i can try as it appears the windows authentication is stuck in the same loop as explained above.
Any help would be highly appreciated.
Re: SBS2008 RWW - Connect to computer Authentication
Went through the settings again disabiling any windows authentication and then re enabling it and this seems to have solved it.
Re: SBS2008 RWW - Connect to computer Authentication
With this information I was able to resolve my issue of “connect to computer” from outside of the network. Internal connections worked fine before. As a side effect this also allowed my TS RemoteApps to connect from the outside. Now we can connect from anywhere through our RWW! It’s great.
On both “Rpc” and “RpcWithCert” I enabled both Windows auth and Basic auth. By default Rpc has just basic auth enabled, and RpcWithCert had just windows auth enabled.
