Problem playing games, seems to be the recorder
I have a problem with my Asus DRW-2014L1T S-ATA recorder!
My system configuration (1 month old)
Motherboard: Asus P5E
Processor: Intel Core2Duo E8200
Graphics card: NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GT
Memory: 2 x 1GB DDR2 6400 Kingston
Hard drive: 2 x 80 GB Serial ATA 2 in RAID 0 and 1 200 GB Serial ATA 1
Operating System: Windows XP SP2
All works well and updated as well. The problem just arises when playing Battlefield 2142! It says that there is no DVD ROM in the drive! So I reinstalled the game, the patch of the game etc still nothing. Tried a new recorder and also tried firmware etc but the same issue. Therefore I dropped out playing it. But now on COD4, I can not play that in multi-and solo; it is not possible! I click on the link to play and a new error "Make sure the right DVD ROM is inserted into the drive" Please help me if you have an idea!
Re: Problem playing games, seems to be the recorder
Try with some different SATA cable and see what happens. Also try using some different CD/DVD (some movie or songs CD/DVD) just to confirm if the drive is working properly or not.
Re: Problem playing games, seems to be the recorder
Thank you for responding! But I tried a new brand burner and also SATA in the same Battlefield 2142 and cod 4 solo, it does not work yet. I changed the SATA cable and SATA port! I also tried a DVD and it plays very nicely!
Re: Problem playing games, seems to be the recorder
I have the same concern with my DVD player, there must be an option in bios I suppose.
So I went to the bios of my ASUS P5E and shut off the controller PATA / SATA, and it solved the problem.
