Installing Windows Xp Media Center Edition 2005
I want to install Windows XP Media center Edition 2005 on a brand new Seagate Sata hard drive. I have already downloaded and installed the Sata driver without any problems and have started the Media Center installation now. But I am getting message where I need to insert the "COMPACT DISC LABELED WINDOWS XP PROFESSIONAL SERVICE PACK 2." So, I downloaded the Service Pack 2 and Service Pack 3 and burned it to CD and am not able to use any one of them. I am thinking to start with a fresh install of the operating system and then insert the SP2 disc when I get the message for the first time and everything will work accordingly? Or is there anything else I have to do? Thanks for any information.
Re: INSTALLING WINDOWS XP MEDIA CENTER EDITION 2005
At the time when you are getting the message COMPACT DISC LABELED WINDOWS XP PROFESSIONAL SERVICE PACK 2" then it is telling you to reinsert the disc 1, that is, insert disc one and then insert disc two and then disc one again. Many people get confused at this time of the installation.
