Looking for the perfect gadget this Christmas? The Philips Luxe MP3 player-cum-cellphone headset. , the GoGear LUXE is priced to please. At S$139 (US$94.37) for a flash-based 2GB player, this packs Bluetooth 2.1 and dual mikes, so you can pair this wirelessly with your Bluetooth-enabled mobile and answer calls on your player. The music will stop for that. A one-line LCD also lets you view the caller's number at a glimpse. The LUXE additionally packs an FM tuner, Philips' proprietary FullSound for CD-quality enhancement of digitally compressed tracks, and a decent 10 hours of playback time with 100 hours on standby.

Singapore will be the first country in Asia Pacific to get the LUXE next month, followed by Thailand, Malaysia, India, China and Southeast Asia. We were told that larger-capacity players will be made available from next year.

Philips does do MP3 players, but their range is lacklustre to say the least. With their latest release, the Luxe, this MP3 player not only keeps you entertained with music on-the-go, it also doubles up as a Bluetooth headset for your phone whenever there is an incoming call

here will be 2GB of internal memory inside, an integrated FM tuner and a single line LCD display that shows you who is calling, so you might not want to ditch that iPod classic just yet. The Philips Luxe MP3 player will be out next month in Singapore for approximately $94.
