How to convert a Project 95 file to Project 2007
I bought a retail edition of Microsoft Project 2007. I had installed the same and it is working fine. There was no issue with installation. I was using Project 95 before on my old computer. I moved the file from old system to new and tried to open them in Project 2007. But it is not working. There is problem with the files. I thought all old files will be compatible with Project 2007. I am getting a message on the screen to save those old Project 95 files to Project 98. But it is not working. I thought it would be better if I first install Project 98 and then save them in it and then export them for Project 2007. Is there any other way available for that.

I donĀ“t know if you are still able to perform this type of file conversions or if you have time to do so.
Please, could you tell me if you are? Thanks a lot!

NEW Request for conversion of Project 4.0 and Project 95 files to Project 2003/2007
Hello,
I have about 25 project files that were built in MS Project 4.0 and 95 versions back in 1995 thru 1999, that I am requesting some to convert for me for use in MS Project 2003 and possibly in 2007 too. Would some (John, Rickaba, ..) or anyone else be able to help me out.
I realize your assistance was offered back in 2009. And it is Aug-2011 now. I am just keeping my fingers crossed.
Thanks

There is a Microsoft Project Converter which is available from Microsoft Technical Support. The Microsoft Project Converter is a Windows-based program that you can use to convert files created in other project management software packages to a format that is compatible with Microsoft Project versions 4.0, 4.1. Check it out here.
re: How to convert a Project 95 file to Project 2007
SUpER CoP,
Thank you for the response.
I did find this in my earlier search but did not download it or try it since it seems to be a utility to convert files created in other project management software packages to a format that is compatible with Microsoft Project versions 4.0, 4.1.
What I need is Microsoft Project versions 4.0, 4.1, 95 files converted to 2003 format.
The only way I see Microsoft recommends it is to open those files in versions 4.0, 4.1 or 95 and save as .MPX and then import that MPX into 2003 or 2007.
The issue is, I do not have versions 4.0, 4.1 or 95!
Hence the problem.
I tried MOOS Project Viewer but it does not seem to recognize these older files and is not able to open them.
Regards
_

Mo,
It appears a reply I posted has been deleted so I'll try again. You may be able to catch the eye of John on the Microsoft forum.
