Honeywell Introduces Innovative Home Security System at IFSEC 2008
Honeywell introduced new products at IFSEC (International Fire & Security Exhibition and Conference) 2008, one of the world's leading annual exhibitions for the security industry. IFSEC is located at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi from October 16-18, 2008.
At the exhibition Honeywell is displaying a wide range of innovative security solutions for both public and private enterprises, including burglar alarm systems, video surveillance, access control and home automation systems. "We see great potential for the continued growth of security in India, especially in the residential area. As a leading brand in the home security segment globally, Honeywell will continue to deliver products which cater to the needs and preferences of the Indian consumers." said Shane Tedjarati, President, India and China, Honeywell.
Honeywell Security also launched Armor 100 today at the exhibition. Armor 100 has been specially designed to suit the Indian market conditions. The electronic security system is ideally suited for independent houses and multi-storey apartments. The wireless sensors make it easy to install and a graphical user interface (GUI) makes it convenient to use by the elderly and children. It comes with a dust proof design and a battery backup to survive the long power cuts. Armor 100 is fully tamper proof and provides 24/7 monitoring.
Commenting on the launch Deepak Thakur, Director, Security South Asia, Honeywell Security & Data Collection said, “The domestic market for residential security has been witnessing an evolution over the last few years. As the market matures, demand for these products has spread across metros and mini metros to Tier II and Tier III towns as well. At Honeywell, we have consistently leveraged our wide range of residential security solutions to meet requirements across various segments. Typically, electronic security products have been primarily aimed at higher income groups reducing penetration to a large segment. Armor 100 is being launched with an aim to make a world class electronic security system available in India at an affordable cost for the Indian middle class consumers.” Armor will be available in the Indian market from November 2008 onwards.
Re: Honeywell Introduces Innovative Home Security System at IFSEC 2008
I bought Honeywell Armor 100 (Intrusion Alarm System) recently,
A. What's the limit on wireless signal range? How many floors will it reach?
B. What repeater will work with this device?
Please advice.

The Honeywell Armor 100 has a wireless sensor range of about 2 and ½ floors houses and certified to global quality standards. The TB-RP5000W ZigBee® wireless repeater is designed for use with Honeywell different models, but for the model you have described, I doubt.
