Windows cannot find ?http://oca.microsoft.com/resredir.aspx?SID=2039 After installing .net Framework 3.5 and the .net Framework 3.5 SP1 update I can't start Office Outlook 2003 anymore. The symptoms are: 1. Message that 'Business Contact Manager has encountered a problem and needs to close. 2. When sending an error report to Microsoft, the link 'Get more information about preventing the problem in the future' tells me: Windows cannot find http: //oca.microsoft.com/resredir.aspx?SID=2039&iBucketTable=5&iBucket=295592578&LCID=1033&OS=5.1.2600.2.00010100.3.0&DWVer=1 2.0.6.211.1000. Make sure you typed the name correctly, and then try again. To search for a file, click the Start button, and then click Search. The event viewer tells me that: Event Type: Error Event Source: Microsoft Office 11 Event Category: None Event ID: 5000 Date: 2008-09-25 Time: 08:37:23 User: N/A Computer: KYBPC399 Description: EventType bcm, P1 mapi, P2 typeinitializationexception, P3 1.0.2002.1, P4 11.0.8217, P5 nativemsproviderinit, P6 ctor, P7 9984089e, P8 NIL, P9 NIL, P10 NIL. I have tried the following: 1. Start Outlook in safe mode with the same result 2. Uninstall .net Framework 3.5 Can anyone help? Thank you in advance Tor |
Re: Windows cannot find 'http://oca.microsoft.com/resredir.aspx?SID=2039 Well the problem is clearly related to MS Office. You just need to insert your Office/Outlook Media cd in the DVD drive and and select the option to repair. Thats it. |
Thanks for your reply. The repair option didn't help. But after first removing the Business Contact Manager, Outlook now works ok! rgds, Tor |
